INSTALLATION OF 11 KV LINE

STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED:

1.Take up survey and Route finalization

  • Conduct detailed route survey to minimize bends,Crossings and obstacles
  • Obtain Statutory clearance for forest,Railways and highways if any.
  • Prepare Route map and Pole schedule

2.Foundation and Erection Supports

  • Type of support: PCC poles (8/9/11 m), steel tubular poles, or lattice towers depending on span & terrain
  • Excavation of pit as per soil type
  • Concrete foundation (M15 / M20) with proper curing.
  • Erection of poles/towers using crane, hydra, or manual derrick.
  • Alignment check with theodolite/line dor
  • 3.STRINGING OF EARTH WIRE AND CONDUCTORS:
  • Stringing with pulley blocks to prevent conductor damage.
  • Maintain statutory clearances,
  • Road crossing – 6.1 m (min)
  • Ground clearance – 5.8 m (min)
  • Building clearance – 3.7 m (min horizontal
  • Conductors commonly used: ACSR Weasel (30–60 sqmm), Dog (100 sqmm), Rabbit (55 sqmm).
    • Provide stay sets with stay insulators at angle and dead-end poles.
    • Earthing of each pole (GI wire/rod or pipe earthing)
    • Guarding wires for road crossings, telecom crossings, etc.Sagging & tensioning as per temperature and span length4.INSULATORS AND HARD WARE FITTINGS:
      • Pin insulators on straight poles, disc insulators for angle/dead-end locations.
      • Installation of clamps, strain fittings, suspension hardware
      • Double pole structures for section, cut-point, or tension points

      5.STAY SET AND EARTHING:

    • Provide stay sets with stay insulators at angle and dead-end poles.
    • Earthing of each pole (GI wire/rod or pipe earthing)
    • Guarding wires for road crossings, telecom crossings, etc.
    • 6.INSTALLATION OF ACCESSORIES:
      • Danger boards, phase plates, number plates on each pole.
      • Barbed wire fencing at DP/TP locations.
        • Anti-climbing devices
        • Painting of poles (red/white bands or aluminium paint).
        • .TESTING AND COMMISSIONING:
          • Megger testing of insulators & line sections
          • Verification of phasing & earthing
          • Sectional charging after approval from DISCOM/utility

          DOCUMENT SUBMISSION AFTER INSTALLATION

          • As-built drawing & route map.
          • Pole schedule & sag-tension charts
          • Test reports of earthing, insulation resistance
          • Completion certificate for utility inspection
